The inside scoop on ONE BULLET!

The band is about to drop our new single ONE BULLET this Friday March 5th 2010!  I just finished listening to it and really can't wait to post it all over the WORLD WIDE WEB!! It's gonna rock ya to your core and hit your ear drums like a mac truck.  Buckle up kids TAKILMA has Raised the Frequency to 11!! A whole new era has begun.....

The jumping point for this song came from BK finding a rather disturbing WWII photo. The sheer brutality of the photo influenced the band to try to put themselves in the horrible situation of all people in the photo.  And the music had to sonically match the intense emotions and once you hear it you will understand how ONE BULLET came to be.  The bands message is that it only takes one bullet to take or change so many lives...we are in no way glorifying this image just posting the reality of the world and our cultures.  This is what we do as artists to try to express ourselves through words & music.  So here is the photo (its pretty well known on the web for old WWII photos).

"One Bullet", "How Many More?", "Drums of War", "Soldier" are all songs that are the bands take on the war's being waged in our world currently and in the past and their effects on people's lives. Songs like "Veil of My Shame" & "Souls N' Spirits" & "Free N' Indepedent" explore the feelings associated with such tragedies and exploring what we are all destined for. Spreading messages of hope and faith while being realitstic with where we are as a humanity.  Songs like "The answer to 1984...is 1776!", "Daze of Falling", "Bong Water Blues" & "Tending the Light" all explore and pay homage to people and idea's that force us to think "outside the box" and are the bands way of paying tribute and helping to pass the wise messages of others we admire past & present.....RAISING THE FREQUENCY is a musical piece of art unlike anything we have created before!  When you hear it you will know!!

Ok so enough on all that!! ...but seriously its taken almost a year and half and I can't wait to share with the world the new music. I am really proud of the end product and the hard work that so many people put into this project so here is a little kudos to some folks from me (nate):

Many Thanks to:

BK (Takilma co/visionary & songwriter and many a late hour music master)

Mike B (whose voice has elevated this band to new levels)

Joe (for putting the last beat down on the last song when we needed it)

Adam (for stepping into the lead guitar spot with some tastey chops!)

Robert (for giving the band the needed keys!)

Juice (for all his hard work, great harmonica, congas, drums, flutes and other creative inspiration he gave to this band and these songs)

Eddie (for lending his hand at some amazing guitar solos!)

Scott D (for lending his hand at some amazing guitar solos!)

Marcus (for being the beat master on the bulk of these tracks)

Aben V (for putting down the beat on "One Bullet" & "Tending the Light" like only he can)

Micah C. Miracle (for talking trash and motivating us to write better songs! oh yeah and some nice guitar work on "Tending the Light")

and all our family and friends who offer their support to us as we wander the long road of music......

So there ya go its a true TAKILMA effort from many players in the band's past & present and the band will be GOING OUT LIVE TO PERFORM THESE SONGS and so many more LIVE ON TOUR IN 2010!

BK Interview

The Cohassett Daily Telegraph recently conducted an exclusive 1 on 1 interview with Takilma's BK.  As the founder, guitarist and producer of Takilma his schedule is quite busy but he found time to sit down with Entertainment Journalist Peter Sanbatch recently to discuss whats in store for Takilma and their new release "Raising the Frequency". The following is excerpts of the interview:

P. Sanbatch reporting: How are the recording sessions going for your new CD? What kind of influences are you drawing from for the new material?

BK: Well having recently concluded through deep meditation & hypnosis that I was Eunice Treadwell (slave owners name) an african american slave who served in a housekeeping role but suffered greatly at loosing my 7 children to slavery by the age of 4 or 5... its really liberated me.  I have found new creative vigor through this transformational breakthrough. Oh.... and now I have been "clinically" diagnosed as an insomniac.  Helps keep things straight.

P. Sanbatch: Right...and how has that creative vigor help come through on the new songs?

BK: Having a new vocalist in Mike B changes everything...he brings his own uhh artistic element to his instrument. His voice.. so it feels like we are making an album from scratch again.  The tracks although sounding familiar (through all the internet leaks) has a freshness to it that I find stimulating.

P. Sanbatch: So whats the work pace like right now... what is the band gearing up for when the album is wrapped up?

BK: Right now we record, rehearse, write, revise and then decide its all shit and start over.  But the rehearsals are coming along for the new band members. We really are going to have a kick ass live set when we start gigging in April.  The new sound is familiar but refined.  I think fans and new listeners are going to be surprised by the sonic experience of the new material.  Its new ground for the band.

P. Sanbatch: I understand you had a little incident flying back from the Phoenix airport recently. A band insider said you had a brush with the TSA over some things you were bringing back.

BK: Mostly fruits and vegetables man... had I known I would not have brought that second back pack carry on.  And the Special K wasnt even mine!  Thats what you get for leaving your pack on the ground in the men's room of an international airport.  Someone had to take the fall.

P. Sanbatch: So whats the long term plan for 2010 with Takilma? Any chance of a show date on the east coast this year? You guys are primarily a West Coast band right?

BK: So far but things are in the works.... I hear NY is lovely in mid october...

P. Sanbatch: Well thanks for taking some time to give me an update.  Since hearing you music via Independent Musicans Radio I have wanted to get this interview. The new release will be out 4/20/2010 correct?Available online?

BK: Yes 4/20 is the release date. Hitlers B-day? Or feel good day? I can't remember either way... its gonna be a kick to the gonads.  Check out www.takilma.net and keep reaching out to touch me.  Thanks Sanbatch.

P. Sanbatch: So catch Takilma on tour this summer and check their website on 4/20/2010 for their new release "Raising the Frequency".
